Carol Riddick has lost almost 6 stone.

She went from a dress size 20 to a size 8, trimming 15 inches off her waist, and has been crowned ‘Overseas Slimmer of the Year’.

Carol, 61, who lives in Cyprus after moving there from Scotland in 2000, admits the more laid-back lifestyle there caused her to pile on the pounds: “I didn’t do much exercise, plus I was drinking too much wine and really enjoying cheese! My husband took me to Scotland and Ireland to celebrate my 60th birthday, but my weight and size spoiled it for me: everywhere we walked, my face was soaked with sweat, I had blisters on my feet, I was so embarrassed.

“My family emailed some pictures to me and I was horrified: the fat blob couldn’t really be me…?  I looked at this as my last chance, It was perfect for me to have the support, even though I live thousands of miles away.

My husband took me on a cruise earlier this year and I loved dressing up in the evenings and feeling comfortable – no waistbands digging in or hiding bulges! I can honestly say I’ll never go back to my old lifestyle.”
